Sandy Beach Saplunara on the Island of Mljet, Croatia

At the southernmost point of the habitable part of Croatia, on the island of Mljet, there is the sand beach named Saplunara. Mala Saplunara (Small Saplunara) and the sandy beach Blaca are only a few hundred meters away from this beach.

After you visit Saplunara for the first time, you will love the soft, fine sand, which created a beautiful backdrop. On the beach, there are numerous umbrellas of palm leaves, each including a small table and two chairs. In the sea: sand, sand and more sand. For a sandy beach in Croatia this beach offers relatively quiet atmosphere. Kids can play and adults can cavort in the water or relax on the beach. Due to the fact that the water is up to you neck for the first 30 or 40 meters from the beach, this place is ideal for families with children. You can enjoy glorious sunshine from early morning until late evening.

The beach is free to use. However, those who want to rent a beach umbrella and two deck chairs will pay 90 Kunas for this, what is equivalent of about 12 Euros a day. There is also a beach bar/restaurant, which offers the Mediterranean cuisine and light dishes. Fresh fish is served with grilled vegetables and light, refined olive oil with salads. Rent an apartment in Saplunara on the island of Mljet to enjoy this beautiful beach for a longer time.
